Small Cricket Grounds :

In cricket Length and the Width of the of the ground is always been a issue. It becomes reason behind High and low Scoring matches. Measurement of the Cricket Wicket is fix but measurement of the circle is different as per the venue.  Many of the Stadiums are very big in size or small in size.

In India stadium of Nagpur is the biggest stadium and in the world Australia's Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) is the biggest stadium. There are some Small grounds as well in the world that we are going to see in this article.

But before that let's see some ICC rules for boundaries.

1) The difference between ropes and advertisement hoardings must be atleast Three meters.

2) ICC also states that the straighter boundaries must be atleast 64 meters and Square boundaries must be atleast 59 meters.

3) According to the rules boundaries should not be more than 82 meters from the centre pitch.

But some grounds are smaller dimensions as this ground are also use for Rugby match in New Zealand or Countries like England. This grounds unable to fullfill this rules.

Let's see about some smallest Cricket Grounds in the world :

1) Eden Park, Auckland, New Zealand :

This Ground established in 1900 as a Sports Ground, But in 1903 this ground alloted for Cricket as well. This stadium is also use for Rugby Matches. This stadium considered as most beautiful and famous stadium of New Zealand.

Ground has a capacity of 50000 for Rugby Matches with standard seating and has a capacity of 60000 with a temporary seating. And for Cricket matches it has a capacity of 42000 viewers. 

This Ground considered as a smallest Cricket Grounds in the world. The boundaries of this ground is 52-55 metres in square boundaries.

2) Wanderers Stadium, Johannesburg, South Africa :

This Ground established in 1956 And is also called as 'The Bullering' Because its design and atmosphere. This stadium is one of the famous and beautiful stadium in the world because of its design. Ground has a capacity of 34000 viewers. 

This Ground considered as Second smallest ground in the world. The straight boundaries of this Ground is almost 55-58 meters and Square boundaries also almost same. Because of this batsman can hit sixes very easily on this Ground.

AB Divilliers scored fastest ODI Century on this Ground in just 31 Balls against West Indies in 2015.

3) Holkar Stadium, Indore, India :

Before 2010 this stadium was known  Maharani Usharaje Trust Cricket Ground. In 2010 Madhya Pradesh Cricket Association changed the named as HOLKAR Stadium. This Ground has a capacity of 30000 viewers.

This Ground considered as worlds third smallest and Indians smallest Cricket Ground. The boundaries of this Ground is 56-57 meters in square of the ground. Batsman can easily cross the fence. 

Virendra Sehwag had scored double century in ODI's on this ground against West Indies. And in the same match India scored 418/5 in 2011-12.
